Mulching & Composting Georgetown

We offer both natural and dyed mulch (non-toxic), leaf compost and garden blend compost. Hardwood mulch is organic, but more costly; expensive but longer lasting. Our product is chemical free! Compost and mulch have different benefits. Compost is filled with nutrients whereas mulch retains moisture longer.

While compost and mulch serve different purposes (nutrient rich vs. moisture rich), we offer complimentary consultation with our designers on staff for you upon request. We can provide recommendations based on the soil on your property, amount of sunlight, etc.

Yes! We have a formula to help you calculate:

• Square footage of property × desired depth, in inches ÷ 324 = total cubic yards needed.

Eg. 500 sq ft x 3" mulch depth = 1500. 1500/324 = 4.63 yd³. We can double check your guestimates during your free estimate.

We offer prompt delivery to the Georgetown area and beyond. There is no minimum order required for delivery, however, delivery fees do apply and depend on distance. Please get in touch with your postal code for details.

Absolutely. You are welcome to pick your order up Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm, on Saturdays from 9am-12pm from our yard located directly in Georgetown. No appointment necessary for prepaid orders.

Our delivery fees start as low as $25 and vary based on distance - full disclosure will be applied during your transparent quote process.

• For both mulch and compost, it is advised to clear away any debris from the area and outline your borders using string, or spray painted markers etc.
• If using compost, tilling the top layer of soil is a good idea.
• With mulch, we suggest laying down sheets of cardboard or newspaper, when possible, to aid in weed suppression.

• We suggest storing your compost and/or mulch in a dry area, covering it as best as possible using breathable materials like burlap sacks, in order to allow air to circulate.
• We recommend keeping the compost lightly moist, while turning the piles to preserve quality.
• We also advise keeping it off of the ground to prevent unwanted decomposition.

Our mulches and composts can be considered Eco Friendly, since they are all sourced from secondary materials and don't contain any added chemicals. Our composts follow environmentally conscious guidelines, and includes ingredients like food scraps and yard waste when preparing the mixture.

Our composts are pH balanced (6.5 to 7.5) - we pre-test to ensure results that won’t cause havoc with your plants. With particularly fragile species, we offer a free soil health assessment for your purchase.

• We suggest a layer of 2-3 inches of mulch while keeping it away from plant stems.
• Incorporate compost into planting beds at a depth of 6-8 inches.

Yes we offer our compost and mulch products by the cubic yard (a cubic yard covers around 100sqft x 3" thickness) with increments available in ½ yard parcels for smaller areas or container gardens.

We’d be happy to provide you with a free sample either by mail or in person at our Georgetown location. We will give you a sample sealed in a clear baggie so that you can really see the difference in composition/texture/colour of our materials.

Yes. Any unused product in its original condition may be returned within 14 days; our 5 Year Limited Labour Warranty also extends to material defects - please visit our Warranty page for full details.
